Presenter: Jake Turner, Training and Communications Media Producer, Medtronic
Your boss wants a simple video of a product demonstration. You have no time, no budget, no videographer, and no professional equipment. What do you do?
You need something simple and effective. You wish it could be as simple as the photos and videos you’ve taken of your children, pets, vacations, etc. If ONLY there was a quick and easy way to use a tool that you already carry around every day in your pocket to get this work done. There is!
In this 90 -minute, hands-on session, DESIGNED FOR BEGINNER AUDIENCES, we’ll go over the basics of creating a quick and easy video. We’ll cover structure, storytelling, communicating or demonstrating a desired behavior. We’ll cover basic concepts to improve photo and video you’re already creating, how to manage the content, and how to deliver the goods.
The goal of this course is to demystify the complexity of creating simple video for learning and communication. In addition, finding ways to do it without a budget (or utilizing existing tools and platforms). You will not walk away as an expert, but you have a new perspective, a shift in mindset, and more confidence to try something new at work or home.
Target audience:
The intended audience for this course is for professional educators that want to use video to enhance the resources they’re creating. This is not a course for robust and professional video production processes.

- Content creation, management, and delivery
- The basics of composition
- Simple tools for better shoots
- Basic editing and publishing
BRING YOUR DEVICE! We’ll get hands on by breaking out into small groups and using our mobile devices to create video content. At the end of the session we will view each group’s video and award those with winning categories.
