The outdoor power equipment industry, and many others like it, are undergoing a transition from gas-powered to electrified machinery, leaving many of its technicians with a significant skill gap. The situation is amplified by the fact that only a small percentage of skills taught in workplace training is transferable to the job and measuring that transfer is extremely challenging. Attendees will be introduced to a set of strategies that improve the likelihood of training transfer. This program is FREE for all ATD-GTC members. Meet the Presenter: As the Director of Customer Care for The Toro Company’s Commercial division, Ty Barth is responsible for driving service support excellence throughout Toro’s North American distribution channel. Ty is a lifelong learner with a true passion for technical education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a master’s in Educational Technology, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. Ty enjoys creating innovative learning experiences and finding new ways to motivate students at all levels.
