Business Acumen

Join Erik Wakefield as he facilitates a discussion on Business Acumen. Erik will share why this is an essential skill for any learning professional.

Topics Include:

  • Understand why business acumen is important in Learning & Development
  • Define business acumen
  • Begin understanding business acumen in terms of their current company, what’s most important (revenue, gross margin, expense, fiscal year, capital versus operational expense), differences between Public vs Private (long- term/short-term growth, and earnings per share (EPS)
  • Know how to relate learning & development priorities/projects in terms of the business
