All classrooms have some diversity of experience. When diversity of expertise is high, cooperative learning is seen as a means for helping less experienced learners grow faster by taking advantage of their more knowledgeable classmates. But is it? In problem centered instruction, does the presence of an advanced learner in the group result in valuable coaching, or does the advanced learner just end up doing the work? Join us at this month’s ATD Training SIG as Dr. Bob Mulcahy addresses the results of his original research comparing the performance of learners groups homogeneously by experience with learners grouped heterogeneously. Reminder: You may bring food to this meeting. Cost: Free to all participants. Contact: Please send an email to jkasdan@fredricksonlearning.com or jessica.nelson@rsmus.com if you plan to attend this session and/or if you would like to be added to the ATD Training SIG email list.
