Topic:  Creating Interactive Training Using eLearning and Simulation

How do you transform standard in-person and online didactic education into a cohesive educational strategy?  Using Hennepin County Medical Center’s New Resident Orientation, you'll hear about how we took 24 hours of lecture and transformed it into 5 days of a powerful and engaging learning experience using eLearning and simulation.  In-person attendees will be invited to tour HCMC's Simulation Center following the session.

Speaker: Chris Boldon, Instructional Design Specialist at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC)

Chris designed his first eLearning video when RealAudio Player was still a thing, and had built hundreds of just-in-time videos by the time YouTube launched. He's created eLearning and other learning objects using Articulate, Captivate, Adobe CC, and many other design and development tools. With a passion for learning and instruction, he creates training addressing a wide variety of content for different virtual and real environments. Chris will be demonstrating how HCMC’s Simulation Center combines eLearning, simple task trainers, and complex simulation scenarios together to form a powerful educational experience for new residents coming to practice at HCMC.
