Resiliency 101

Monday, April 6

• How do some people take hit after hit and still keep going after their dream?
• What do these get-back-uppers have that others don’t?
• How can I help myself and others develop more of this kind of mental and physical toughness?

If you’ve wondered about questions like these, Resiliency 101 is a good place to start getting your answers. We'll define resiliency and then identify the five beliefs and behaviors resilient people share. We'll take the 18-item Thomas-Tymon Stress Resiliency Profile to help us determine whether our beliefs fall more on stress-inducing side of the spectrum or more on the resiliency-inducing side. We’ll close with an activity to discover what we can do to improve our personal resiliency quotient and help others do it too.

Our Presenter
Joan Loshek recently celebrated her 18th anniversary operating her own training and organizational development business, Loshek Consulting, Inc. She earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas and is currently enrolled in a graduate certificate program in instructional design with an emphasis in e-learning at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
